Setup guide

Connect your AI in about two minutes

Vibestash is a connector (an MCP server). Add it to the AI you already use, sign in once, and it can save ideas, research them and hand them to your coding agent. You need a vault first: make one, free.

Before you start

  • A Vibestash vault (free). Connecting asks you to sign in to it once.
  • Claude: any plan, Free included (Free allows one custom connector). On Team and Enterprise an owner adds it first.
  • ChatGPT: Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu, in the browser at chatgpt.com. It uses developer mode, which is in beta; on Business and Enterprise an admin has to allow it.

Pick your app

Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)

  1. Open claude.ai and go to Customize → Connectors (on some accounts it is Settings → Connectors).
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Name: Vibestash. Remote MCP server URL: paste the address above. Leave the advanced settings as they are.
  4. Click Add, then Connect next to Vibestash.
  5. A Vibestash window opens. Sign in, read what Claude may do, and click Allow.
  6. In a chat, click + → Connectors and switch Vibestash on.
  7. Check it works: ask “What is in my Vibestash vault?”

Claude Desktop uses the same connectors as claude.ai once you are signed in to the same account. Team and Enterprise: an owner adds it under Organization settings → Connectors (Add → Custom → Web); then each member clicks Connect.

ChatGPT

  1. Open chatgpt.com in a browser, then Settings → Apps (called Apps & Connectors on some accounts).
  2. Open Advanced settings and switch Developer mode on.
  3. Back in Apps, click Create app (or Create).
  4. Name: Vibestash. MCP server URL: paste the address above. Authentication: OAuth. Tick the box that you trust the app, then click Create.
  5. A Vibestash window opens. Sign in and click Allow.
  6. In a new chat, click + → More → Developer mode and turn Vibestash on.
  7. Check it works: ask “What is in my Vibestash vault?” ChatGPT asks you to confirm before Vibestash saves anything.

Claude Code

  1. In a terminal, run:

  1. Start claude, type /mcp, pick vibestash and choose Authenticate.
  2. Your browser opens Vibestash. Sign in and click Allow.
  3. Check it works: ask “List my Vibestash ideas.”

Add --scope user to use it in every project. On a machine without a browser, use a token (next card).

Codex, Cursor and scripts

  1. In your vault, open You → Agent tokens, make a token and copy it (it is shown once).
  2. Put it in your shell profile: export VIBESTASH_TOKEN=…
  3. For Codex, add to ~/.codex/config.toml:

Cursor and other MCP clients take the same address with the header Authorization: Bearer and your token. Revoke a token any time under Agent tokens.

Menu names were checked on 3 November 2026. Claude and ChatGPT rename them now and then; if a step looks different, look for “Connectors” or “Apps” in the settings.

If something goes wrong

  • No sign-in window? Allow pop-ups for vibestash.fyi, then press Connect again.
  • “Invalid or revoked token”: the connection was removed in You → Agent tokens. Connect again to make a new one.
